Recently my father whom served in the air Force during the Korean War was recently an honoree on the Honor Flight for veterans. Two days prior to the flight our local VFW Post 1831 honored Dad with a “send-off” luncheon to honor “one of their own”. Two volunteers [Bill & Rosie Sei] from the Honor Flight organization attended the lunch, and were so impressed they have contacted other volunteers to contact their organizations to do the same for other veterans whom are selected for the Honor Flight. This whole idea came from Jr. Vice Commander Jim Kramer, VFW Post 1831, DeSoto, MO. Jim is to be commended for setting this precedent. I would hope he would be recognized at the next district meeting for his outstanding idea to do such a nice thing, (with the help of his other officers, and bartender Penny Ipock [she did a fantastic job on decorations]) for one of his members. Thank you.
